Mission animation
Vocation promotion

In 1984 we began mission animation and vocation promotion in Malawi followed by the launching of Zikomo magazine.
In 1992 the new house of Lunzu and the Mission Animation Centre were opened.

MISSION ANIMATION AND VOCATION PROMOTION
We also promote Comboni vocations and the formation of future priests and religious in the local Church. It is important to appreciate the fact that the Comboni Missionaries have vocations in Malawi and that there are Malawian and Zambian Comboni Missionaries.
From 1973-2013, the Malawi/Zambia Province has been blessed with the lives and work of 137Comboni Missionaries. 13 of them are local members, 9 Malawians and 4 Zambians.
In Malawi / Zambia Province, Mission Promotion and Vocation Promotion started simultaneously in 1985. In Malawi, Fr. Chemello Francis was appointed mission and vocation promoter full time.
On the Zambian side, Fr. Bob Staton was involved in these ministries.
An important development was the building of the Comboni Mission Centre in Lunzu in 1991. Later on, in 2011, a News Centre named Comboni House in Chipata was built.
These centres are for vocation promotion meetings and mission animation through New People, calendars and other publications.
The centre gives also hospitality and support to missionaries and other pastoral agents and is also used for the spiritual help of the local church.
Vocation meetings are regularly held.
So far the Lord has blessed us with 12priests and around 40 students who come from Malawi/Zambia and are in different stages of formation.
